Progression of editing

From the problems occurred last week, I have now got my focus on completing the preliminary task and starting my planning and research for my soundtrack. 

In the end I used Serif MoviePlus X5 as I find it easier to import film clips and to edit.

From the frustrating start in my editing progress, I have finally began to start and progress quite far in editing my music video. Making the video to look similar to the original is very difficult as it uses many short shots. Also the other group have not filmed enough shots in the classroom scene, meaning I will have to reuse some clips. However, many of the clips are very good in copying the original. The props are different, but the lip synching, performance, and editing make it look more professional. 

I will have to edit clips by:

• Cropping clips to the same time length as the original.
• Adding effects, e.g slow motion.
• Adding transitions, e.g cross dissolves. 

From editing I have learnt that:

• You need all the clips to make the video fully complete.
• Technology can be unreliable - keep a spare copy of everything, and save often.
• New effects and transitions.
