Additions made and Completed Music Video

I have added more of the performance into my video from my last shoot, and added a darker and a slightly higher contrast effect to my video to enhance dark boozy atmosphere throughout the clip. Personally I believe the last shoot really helped make the video look more professional and complete. The lip-synching is good and it is more even comparing both the screen time of the narrative and performance. The fade transition between the photos and the narrative again helps it look more professional. 

Overall I am happy with my music video and I think it does relate to the typical conventions of the genres it is set in. Furthermore the performance and narrative compliment each other making it entertaining throughout. 

Editing

This is a powerpoint of how I used the Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my music video. This software was really useful in editing, cutting/cropping, and ordering clips. It was relatively easy to use once I knew how to use it. 

Analysing the clips

From observing the clips filmed, they are suitable for my video. I was impressed with how it looks as it would really emphasise the rough, boozy environment. The lighting is very effective making him look down and dark. This could symbolise the him been the dark and evil character, but this representation is challenged with the light hearted tone of the song, plus the fact that he is inferior to the other characters in the pub. Challenging this evil image creates humour in the video and also it is a common feature in the gypsy punk music genre. 

My Actions

From my feedback, most people suggested o add another scene with more performance. I took this up to improve my music video, and organised a final shoot in my house converting our living room into an film set. 

I filmed this on midday at the weekend, and the sun was very bright therefore I used anything we had to cover the window to take the brightness down. This was crucial in manipulating the lighting so it was right for the video. My keyboard light was essential in creating the light, and shadows. Further we could control the light making it dimmer by attaching sheets in front of it to ensure that it decreased the brightness. Covering the radiator with an old sheet again helped create the rough environment on the video. Using old beer bottles, an old wooden table, wooden chair, again makes the set look more rough and old. The camera tripod helped to create more controlled and steady shots.
